Automation System Engineer - Automated Manufacturing Lines

About The Position

Innoviz is a world-leader cutting-edge LiDAR development company. Our LiDAR enables autonomous driving in the next-generation vehicles of leading companies such as BMW and VW.

The Operations department is responsible for building and operating the HW manufacturing lines. We are looking for a Manufacturing Automation System Engineer (AE) to develop Innoviz automated assembly lines for mass production.

Responsibilities

  • Development of an automated assembly line for Electronical, Optical, and Mechanical parts
  • Develop mass production lines layouts, including calculations of cycle times, yields, material transfer and line management
  • Selection and management of global sub-contractors with large budget
  • Writing the system and machines specifications/requirements (SOW)
  • Manage all activities from Proof of Concept through Design Reviews and Acceptance tests
  • Work with a cross functional team to gather all the requirements for assembly, traceability, and testability throughout the production

Requirements

  • Education: BSc. Degree in relevant fields – Optics, Physics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience as manufacturing automation engineer in an opto-mechanical related products
  • Experience in mechanical design for automation
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes, including gluing, dispensing, welding, screwing, PnP, active alignment, soldering and sealing
  • Experience in the automotive industry and VDA standards
  • Experience in vision calibration, including camera to robot calibration methods
  • Hands on experience with motion drivers, engines, robotics, conveyors, tray feeders, vision recognition systems, AOI and traceability tools
  • Experience with PLC. Robotics programing and communication protocols
  • Mechanical design tools - Solidworks
  • Experience in working with vendors and CM’s
  • Good analytical skills, self-starter with drive, focus, and initiative
  • Language skills: Good English, both written and verbal
  • Clean room work experience – an advantage
  • Experience with multidisciplinary products NPI - an advantage
  • Software: Lab View/Python - an advantage
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A real team player able to efficiently work with multi disciplines across the organization (Production, SC, R&D, QA etc)
