Innoviz Perciz is the defense and security brand of Innoviz Technologies
(NASDAQ: INVZ)

Innoviz Perciz applies the same automotive-grade LiDAR platform selected by BMW, Volkswagen, Mobileye, Daimler Truck, and used for various civilian applications to a problem the counter-drone market has not solved: locating a drone precisely enough, at low cost, to support an effective response.

The blockage resilience, high-resolution output, and reliability that autonomous driving demands are exactly what defense and homeland security environments were missing. Perciz runs on Innoviz’s production lines and automotive-grade engineering, required for the field. The application changed. The proven engineering did not.

Precision.

Centimeter-level 3D localization, even through dense vegetation and trees.

Resilience.

Sees through clutter and dirt, works on fixed or moving platforms, indifferent to how a drone is controlled.

Economics.

Automotive-grade sensor provides a cost-effective, high-precision localization for C-UAS defenders.

Modern C-UAS systems are good at noticing drones and bad at locating them precisely enough to affect a response.

Radar, cameras, and acoustic arrays return position accurate to a few meters. That is enough to sound an alarm. It is not enough to act on with precision. Without a precise coordinate, defenders fall back on expensive interceptors to cover the margin of error. The result is economic asymmetry, where disproportionately costed solutions are deployed against threats that could cost as little as a few hundred dollars.

Why LiDAR, Not More Radar

Radar scans wide and warns early. Perciz converts that warning into an exact coordinate. Here are three things Perciz does:

Sees through clutter.

Metal fences often create radar blind spots, and trees and cables may trigger false positives. Perciz is able to put a clean coordinate on a threat behind a fence or in foliage.

Tracks on the move.

Triangulation needs fixed infrastructure. Perciz operates dynamically, which makes it a viable sensor for vehicle-mounted defense.

Indifferent to control methods.

Most Fiber-optic drones emit no RF and little sound, defeating jamming and acoustic detection. Perciz responds to physics, not signals, so it is unaffected.

One Coordinate, a Stronger System

Conventional defense systems are often not precise enough to trigger low-cost, reliable, C-UAS countermeasures, falling back on disproportionately expensive responses. To close this gap, Innoviz Perciz offers a solution that provides precise, continuous, three-dimensional coordinates of the threat. By overcoming the weather, terrain, and radio-jamming vulnerabilities of traditional radar, the technology is able to dramatically lower the cost of drone defense while successfully tracking even the stealthiest fiber-optic-controlled threats.

Built to Fit: As-Is and Option for Customization

Innoviz Perciz sensors are the same commercially available LiDARs Innoviz supplies across its non-automotive applications – designed to serve a wide range of use cases as-is, with no additional development resources required. Where a specific use case calls for capabilities beyond the standard configurations, such as tuning the sensor across the standard LiDAR trade-offs: range against field of view, resolution against frame rate, plus interface, power (including POE), and enclosure options for the operating environment, Innoviz’s experienced engineering team can evaluate and support customization options, subject to applicable laws and regulations.

The Innoviz Perciz Answer

Innoviz Perciz is the precision-localization layer that helps defenders turn detection into precise, actionable coordinate. It delivers centimeter-level XYZ coordinates in the close-in window that matters most. Alternatives may only give you X and Y. A cost-effective response needs Z. Perciz gives you all three, in real time, on a moving platform.

Use Cases

Counter-UAS.

Precision localization to support low-cost solutions to low, fast, close threats, including fiber-optic drones that defeat RF and acoustic detection.

Perimeter security.

Clean coordinates through fences, clutter, and vegetation where radar often goes blind, with privacy advantages over cameras.

Critical infrastructure protection.

Persistent, high-precision sensing around airports, energy, and other high-value sites.

Homeland security.

Fixed and mobile deployments for borders and secured zones.

Innoviz LiDAR is resilient to small and large occlusions.

Perciz brings that same engineering and manufacturing scale to defense and security.

FAQ

Short objection-handling block for the skeptical buyer.

How is this different from radar?

Radar and Perciz LiDARs do different jobs, in sequence. Radar scans wide and warns early, but it returns position accurate to meters, gives you X and Y without a reliable Z, and throws blind spots behind fences and clutter. Perciz takes that warning and produces a true 3D coordinate accurate to centimeters in the close-in window, precise enough to engage. It is not more radar. It is the precision layer that radar has always been missing.

The launch product is a short-range configuration purpose built for the counter-UAS window, driven by real interception-program requirements. Innoviz’s hardware was built for automotive and perimeter sensing; the counter-UAS configuration adapts that proven core to the close-in threat.

Our client test shows detections of up to 200 meters, depending on configuration.

Perciz LiDAR offers a sensor-fusion layer that provides precise, continuous, three-dimensional coordinates of the threat that feeds into existing effectors and command-and-control. Perciz provides the precision localization for the engagement decision.

Innoviz is a US-listed company (NASDAQ: INVZ) operating an allied-nation supply chain for LiDAR in defense procurement. Manufacturing runs on the same automotive-grade production lines that supply major carmakers. Specific export-control terms are confirmed per customer and jurisdiction during engagement.

Perciz LiDAR offers a sensor-fusion layer that provides precise, continuous, three-dimensional coordinates of the threat that feeds into existing effectors and command-and-control. Perciz upgrades the close-in accuracy of everything downstream, which raises hit rates and cuts wasted interceptors.

Precise localization lets you intercept with cheap effectors instead of expensive ones. Without a coordinate, defenders fall back on interceptors that can cost hundreds of thousands to cover a wide margin of error.

Fiber-optic drones fly down a tether and emit no radio signal and almost no sound, which defeats jamming and acoustic detection outright. Perciz doesn’t listen for the drone. It measures the world with light, so it works regardless of how the drone is controlled.

Innoviz LiDAR is made for and deployed with the world’s top carmakers. Fixed triangulation usually needs static infrastructure, so it can’t track from a moving platform. Perciz operates dynamically, which makes it viable for vehicle-mounted and mobile defense.

It’s automotive-grade, built to hold a clean, reliable output through rain, dust, and lens fouling, and to place a coordinate on a target behind vegetation or a fence.

Products are offered subject to applicable export-control and regulatory requirements and may not be available in all jurisdictions.
